each day is a gift
Moving to the Sunshine Coast in 2019 was one of the best things I did. Here, I found nature, space, and quiet, everyday. And stuff to do. Like building a shed, finishing a basement, landscaping and gardening, home maintenance, egad!
And in between these projects, I find the time and inspiration to make less utilitarian things and to sketch and paint pictures, take photos. No matter how full my day is, I always have room to sit and gawk at the beauty that is around.
My background
I grew up in a Montreal suburb and studied architecture at McGill University. After traveling and living in a few different places, I settled in Vancouver. I started a home-based business of custom-making soft toys from children’s drawings, and then sold it to a toy manufacturer based in Thailand.
I’ve been drawing and painting ever since I was a child. Largely self-taught, I would describe my work as loose but faithful studies in portraits of people and animals, and I like doing landscapes too. I work mainly in watercolors and acrylics.
